Double-covered yarn covers two layers of yarn or filament that are on the outside of the core spandex wire and the two layers of wrapping are typically located in opposing directions. This core spandex filament is completely covered and the exposed phenomena is lightweight. Additionally, because it wraps around the core filament in asymmetrical manner with opposite helix angles and the tension of the filament wrapped is evenly distributed and the process is generally executed without shaping.
