For children aged 6 and above, initiating treatment for the first time or transitioning from another medication, the recommended starting dose is 10 mg once daily in the morning. When deemed suitable by the clinician, patients may commence treatment with 5 mg once daily in the morning. The maximum daily dose for children is 30 mg; dosages exceeding 30 mg daily have not been extensively examined in children. Adults with ADHD, embarking on treatment for the first time or switching from a different medication, are advised to start with a dose of 20 mg daily.
