Dr. Philip Romm, MD, FACC, FSCAI is a cardiology specialist with over 30 years of experience. He graduated from the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in 1985. He completed his cardiology fellowship training at Georgetown University Hospital and his Interventional Cardiology Fellowship at Emory University Hospital. He is board-certified in internal medicine, adult cardiovascular disease, and interventional cardiology. Dr. Romm’s main specialty is interventional cardiology.His expertise includes performance of diagnostic cardiac catheterization, including radial artery catheterization, procedures used to assess for blockages in the coronary arteries that can cause chest pain and heart attacks. He has a particular interest in performing coronary artery angioplasty and stenting including complex/high risk procedures and advanced techniques to open chronic total coronary artery occlusions in patients who have been told that there is no other treatment option other than medication.
Dr. Romm has extensive experience and has performed thousands of coronary angioplasty and stent procedures. His other interests include evaluation and treatment of peripheral arterial disease with diagnostic angiograms and peripheral angioplasty and stents as well as implant of left atrial appendage closure devices to reduce the risk of strokes in patients with atrial fibrillation who have bleeding problems or are otherwise unable to safely take anticoagulation medications.
Dr. Romm also has an active general cardiology practice and a specific interest in treating elevated cholesterol/lipid levels.
