As a police officer, Kathleen Gomez worked in investigations, including juvenile, school and vulnerable adult investigations. She also served as a DWI, alcohol and drug instructor. During law school Kathleen Gomez served in the Minnesota Department of Human Services, Adult and aging Services, earning a CALI award, as well of the office of inspector General. She also served with a Ramsey County Municipal Prosecutor's office, a Wright County Judge and currently Volunteers with the Senior Linkage Line.
