Mr. Kollias is active in local civic affairs, including being a member of the Board of the Claymont Renaissance Development Corporation, member of the Delaware State Chamber of Commerce, member of the Greek-American Chamber of Commerce, member of the American Hellenic Lawyers Association, and member of Leadership 100.The Kollias Law Firm is composed of a real estate, business, environmental law and estate practice. Led by Basil Kollias, the firm is known for hard work, thorough preparation, and top-notch legal acumen.
Mr. Kollias has handled the acquisition and/or sale of properties ranging in price from a few thousand to over $32,000,000 throughout the state of Delaware. He has participated in real estate and landlord-tenant litigation matters in Superior Court, Chancery Court, Court of Common Pleas and the Justice of the Peace Courts in all three counties. In addition, Mr. Kollias has been involved in the acquisition, development and management of commercial and residential properties since 1989.
Mr. Kollias has started and/or purchased and operated numerous business ventures over the course of his career, including an environmental consulting and remediation company, a property development and management company, a restaurant chain, as well as multiple franchises of a multinational convenience store franchise. This hands-on business experience translates to a wealth of practical knowledge in business matters. Mr. Kollias’ clients include owners of restaurants, automobile dealerships, gas stations, retail stores, franchisees, contractors, doctors, accountants and a myriad of other professions.
Mr. Kollias has worked in the environmental field since 1984. He has been directly involved in the cleanups of several USEPA Superfund sites throughout the northeastern United States. In 1991 he founded his own environmental consulting, construction and remediation firm located in Wilmington, Delaware and serving Delaware, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Maryland, D.C. and Virginia. He served as president until 2001 and as chairman of the board until its sale in 2005. With a long history of environmental experience, Mr Kollias assists developers, investors and property owners in the acquisition and development of brownfields sites, as well as represents property and business owners in dealing with federal, state and local agencies regarding environmental issues.
