Business Description

Kevin Leckerman has handled well over 1,000 DWI / DUI cases throughout his career and tried approximately 200 of those cases at the municipal court level in New Jersey and in the Court of Common Pleas in Pennsylvania. Mr. Leckerman has been formally trained to administer standardized field sobriety tests and to operate numerous breath testing machines, including the Alcotest 7110, Intoxilyzer 8000, Datamaster, and Breathalyzer 900/900A.

In the beginning of his career, as a Senior Deputy for the Bucks County Public Defender in Pennsylvania, Kevin Leckerman was the Appellate Division co-chief handling all appellate matters. This position required writing and arguing briefs to the Commonwealth, Superior and Supreme Courts of Pennsylvania. At the same time, he worked as a senior trial attorney representing clients on charges ranging from arson, aggravated assault, DUI, rape, drug crimes, DUI vehicular homicides, felony-murder to capital murder.

After leaving the Office of the Public Defender, Kevin chose to work for Levow & Associates, P.A., located in Cherry Hill, NJ. As an associate, he focused his practice on DWI / DUI defense. During his tenure with Levow & Associates, Kevin Leckerman received training and certification from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) for DWI detection and the administration of standardized field sobriety testing. Moreover, as a member of the National College for DUI Defense, he received and continues to receive extensive training regarding breath testing, blood testing and all other aspects of DWI / DUI defense.

Additionally, Kevin Leckerman wrote the briefs for and argued before the New Jersey Appeals Court in a successful effort to establish new DWI law in New Jersey. The changes in the law concerned the Constitutional right to confront and cross-examine hospital workers who extracted blood samples and lab technicians who tested those blood samples in DWI prosecutions. These changes helped to enhance and protect the rights of all people in New Jersey charged with DWI.
