Law graduate OgoEkweozor-Holley started OGONEWYORK after moving to New York City from the UK in 2010. She was born in Canada, lived her early years in Nigeria, her country of origin and grew up in the United Kingdom. She founded the label on the desire to serve the authentic modern woman. At the time of starting the label, her focus was to create beautiful pieces of art that fit every body type but after learning first hand the negative impact the industry is having on the environment, her mission evolved. ‘It's about creating beautiful pieces that are kind to the eco system.
