Disposable masks may be worn to reduce the risk of respiratory organs being exposed. The masks/respirators must fit in a comfortable or well protected manner against the face, providing a seal and fluid resistant. It is recommended, that wearers are fitted so that they can carefully choose as being the best or most suitable size and model. The wearer must conduct a seal check every time before a respirator is worn. *Surgical masks do not provide maximum protection compared with fitted masks or respirators. Surgical masks are not designed to seal against the face and during the breathing process, the air escapes from the gaps between the face and surgical mask which result in contamination.
