Nevertheless, I never lose sight of the fact that family law is not about winning or losing. It’s about two people trying to navigate an unexpected new reality. As a Certified Guardian Ad Litem, the best interests of your child or children are constantly at the top of my priority list and as a Supreme Court Certified Family Law Mediator, you can trust that I know and understand the benefits of mediation. Success Measured In Gratitude, Not Money Or Arbitrary Victories Every time a family member turns to me and thanks me for making them comfortable and accompanying them throughout the process, my passion for this work grows. I became an attorney to give back and to represent those who would otherwise be lost or left behind by the court system. It has pushed me to excel as a family law attorney and to volunteer in multiple communities and circumstances, including as a Guardian Ad Litem for children who need a voice in court. While winning is not the point of what I do, some victories stay with me. One, in particular, that I will always take pride in was a domestic violence injunction that we were able to uphold on appeal based on extreme mental and psychological abuse – even though actual physical violence was not involved. Regardless of whether or not the circumstances are always so severe, I bring the same rigor and compassion that guided me and that client through from the start to that difficult finish into every case I take on.
